Facial Treatments – Medi-facials Sydney North Shore

What is the difference between a facial and a Medifacial?

  • Put simply a medifacial is an enhanced facial that is geared towards achieving specific results designed to repair, restore and rejuvenate the skin.
  • A standard facial generally provides pampering and is not treating the skin. While it improves the quality of the skin, a facial will generally produce results that are short lasting. The products only sit on the skins surface, and do not penetrate to the Dermis, where the skin does most of the healing and repairing.
  • In Medi-Facials, the prescription strength is medical grade. Therefore the natural ingredients used are exclusive to Doctors and these reach the Dermis to combat all skin issues, such as acne, scarring, pigment spots, sun damage, dehydration, rosacea, broken capillaries, etc.
  • Medi-facials also improve the tone, texture, and collagen and elastin production in the skin, thus slowing down ageing.
  • In general these are personalised to each skin type, as all our skins are different and react in different ways. The results are effective and long-term, and can be permanent when regular and if combined with appropriate prescription medical grade homecare.

Why come to a Plastic Surgery Clinic for a Medifacial?

  • The Medi-facial is performed by experienced practice nurses working in our practice. Nurses working with a plastic surgeon have received direct training from both the surgeon as well as industry leaders to allow them with the skill, knowledge and experience that allows a surgeon to trust them with their patient and reputation.
  • After a careful assessment during skin consultation with our practice nurse, we will determine the ingredients and potency of your medi-facial.
  • In our plastic surgery practice, we will only suggest Medi-facials if they are the the right thing for you – for instance if your wrinkles or facial appearance are the result of loose skin, you may require a different treatment or surgical procedure, in which case spending time and money on Medifacials may not be worthwhile. On the other hand we can suggest ways to continue maintaining your skin through the use of medical grade skin care not available in non-medial practices.

Procedure Information

  • This is customised to each patient
  • However we utilise The Skincare Company products for our skin care and medi-facials and it is their range of serums that we infuse during the medifacial process.
  • You may purchase these serums from our clinic if you wish to continue using them at home – in general we strongly recommend a regular maintenance medical grade skin care to achieve the full benefits after a medifacial.
  • A Medifacial takes approximately 30-60 minutes, in addition to the skin consultation which takes around 15-20 minutes.
